CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce are appropriately qualified the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
Holding a CSCS card is not a legislative requirement. It is entirely up to the principal contractor or client whether workers are required to hold a card before they are allowed on site. However, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid card.

Course Details
Help keep your construction staff safe with this leading qualification.
Construction sites aren’t by nature the safest places in the world. But there’s no reason why with some training, they can’t be made as safe as they possibly can be.
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety within a Construction Environment (RQF) has been developed for learners working in – or wanting to work in the construction industry, and will give them the knowledge to undertake their role safely.
The qualification has also been designed so that learners who successfully complete it and go on to complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment knowledge test will have fulfilled the knowledge needed to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s Card.
Topics include:
- Knowledge of common hazards and risks in a construction environment
- Safe manual handling practices
- Working safely at height
- Working safely around plant and machinery
- The importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry
Certification
Learners who achieve the pass mark of 80% (36/45) will receive a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment via email.
* You can not apply for for CSCS Card until you have a copy of your Certificate!
We aim to email your certificate within 5 days of you passing your Level 1 Course
CITB Tests are available daily from the Base Business Space!
Do you need a CSCS Card?
We have over 10 years experience of delivering support to ensure our clients pass their citb operatives test and gain a CSCS Card.
You need to pass this test if you require a Green, Blue or Gold Card
For a green card you will also need a CSCS Approved Level 1 Certificate
For blue/gold cards you will need a NVQ in a construction related trade!
Fee
The CITB Test booking is £50 (Non-Refundable), which includes the £22.50 CITB exam fee and admin fee/booking fee.

Admission Policy
To ensure a smooth process, we kindly request that you arrive at the Test Centre at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled test time. Please be aware that CITB cannot assume responsibility for candidates who arrive late or are unable to attend due to factors such as adverse weather conditions, transport issues, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
ID Requirements
In order to gain entry to the test, you must present one form of Primary ID from the provided list. This ID should display your full name, a recognizable photograph, and your signature. Acceptable forms of Primary ID include:.
- Passport (UK or International)
- Photocard Driving Licence (UK or European)

If you attend and pass both level 1 course and test we aim to have your card ordered and processed within 5 working days!
The level 1 course and citb test will be undertaken in the same day at the same location
