Built to be usable by everyone
On the site and in the room. If something here doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll fix it.
On this website
The site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. In practice that means:
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring
- Text and interface colours meet AA contrast against their backgrounds
- Headings run in order, so a screen reader can navigate the page structure
- Forms have real labels, describe their errors in words, and never rely on colour alone
- Animation is switched off automatically if your device asks for reduced motion
- Content renders and reads correctly with JavaScript disabled
- Nothing is hidden behind hover alone, and touch targets are large enough to hit
On our courses
We are a neurodiverse-friendly provider, which is a phrase that means very little unless it comes with specifics. Ours are:
- Nobody is asked to read aloud
- Materials are printed on request, in a clear layout with generous spacing
- Breaks happen when the room needs them
- Extra time, a reader or a voiceover on the CITB test are arranged by us, on your behalf
- A one-to-one route exists for anyone who finds a classroom the sticking point
- Venues are step-free, and we will say so plainly if one isn't
Tell us if we've got it wrong
If any part of this site or any part of a course is hard to use, email kevin@ptsy.co.uk or ring 01482 765731. We'd rather know.
